hbuckmeister asked:

Oh yes, wood paneling. LOL. I rent and one wall is wood paneling. Is there a product out there that will make it look less dull? The surface of it is a bit dull. Is there a product out there that will make it shine a bit? That lasts more then 24 hours ty. I need a safe product I don’t want to damage it.

I am first using a smaller bit then a larger one but the wood is still splintering. I have also put tape on the back but that didn’t work. They are not real wood doors but MFD with a laminate wood looking top.

abc_def asked:

We have a heavy door mounted with 3 hinges to a soft wood frame. The door was improperly blocked open with the result that the screws were pulled from the soft wood frame. The screws no longer “bite” into the wood and they cannot be tightened. Are expansion plugs like “molly” the only solution to this? Or, can the ***** holes be filled with a wood like material to allow the wood screws to be used again?

I would love to have to re-face them but that’s not in the budget especially since they are really in great shape-just not my favorite color.. My cabinets are a medium brown showing lots of wood grain. kitchen/dining & living room is one big space. I want wood flooring but what color and will that be too much wood? What about countertops and wall color?
any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I have heard that rubber backed throw rugs are bad for wood floors. And I am purchasing some rugs for my new home, which has wood floors.

Journey Boy asked:

All the wood in my house (chair railings, cabinetry) is a dark maple color. I love cypress flooring, but am not sure if that would match. Also, the house is about 3,000 sq ft. What would be an estimated cost. Anyone know of a good contractor in Dallas to do this kind of work? Sorry for the long question.

We are about to renovate our first home and my living room will have a deep, dark eggplant accent wall. What color wood stain would go well with that color? I am open to any and all suggestions, just to get me thinking. I’m having a hard time coming up with my own ideas because I’m on overdrive with this whole moving debacle.

I have light wood colored doors, trim and cabinets in my home. I have dark wood tables in my family room and I am thinking of putting in wood floors and buying new bookshelves and an entertainment center. I have a small condo and want all of the pieces to work together. What decorating rules should I follow?

tj1013 asked:

The wood floor in our family room (20″x20″) has numerous discolorated spots. We ripped up a couple of wood pieces and found mold growing on the back of the wood and on the concrete slab. Our plan is to cover up the air vent and contain the room with plastics from the rest of the house when we remove the wood floor. We want to somehow first kill the mold with diluted bleach before ripping up the wood floor. How can we get to the mold as the woods are still glued down to the concret slab?
