GNJ asked:

My dad surprised me and build my studio box but he took back the wood I bought. A man suggested to use the wood that is used in subwoofer boxes. The box looks GREAT but when my artist records, I can barely hear her on the mic. But If im on the outside talking, the mic(which is in the box) picks me up better than my artist who is in the box. That is weird! So now Im wondering if the wood wasnt a good selection. I haven’t bought the acoustic yet but the problem isnt the echo. It seems as if the box already drowning her sound out without the acoustic. Can someone please please give me some tips?! My dad did so good on the box and I would **** the problem to be the wood.

I am looking to get a small wood burner to install into a customised campervan, however most of the ones I have seen so far are too large and kick out way more heat than necessary.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Many thanks,

A friend of mine had a huuuuuge cherry tree that was removed from his property due to its proximity with power lines.

There are some great straight sections that I was thinking about cutting up with a chain saw and them taking them to the local saw mill.

After this wood leaves the saw mill, how long will it take for the moisture level to fall to an appropiate level to use the wood for furniture?

I just bought a kitchen table, four chairs, and a bench, all unfinished. I have never stained unfinished wood before. The type of wood is parawood. I’ve been told it is a “hard” wood and does not need any conditioning or pretreating before the stain is applied. Any tips or suggestions? TIA!

I just built a wood shed and I am trying to decide what paint to use that will protect it the best from water and termites. I’m thinking a stain would be better because it penetrates the wood. But a regular primer/paint seems like it would form more of a barrier between the wood and the elements. What do you think?

We live in SW MO & the rain has turned to sleet and ice, with snow coming after that. We live out of the city limits in wooded sub. We stand a good chance of losing power. I wanted to know how much wood do I need for one whole day?
I appreciate your response.
I have wood outside, I just wanted to make sure I have enough.

I need to fill some cracks in my 120 yr old hardwood floor that I am refinishing. I also have to patch a few spots with new wood. I just want something that will fill good, and stain with the wood. Should I just use the Wal-mart “Elmers” or the more expensive stuff I’ve seen in some hardware stores?

The wood pieces are a half inch thick. I’ve already tried 1 ¼ inch screws but they kept breaking. I need to put the wood down to hold together two adjacent pieces of wood.
oops I meant its for two adjoining pieces of linoleum not two pieces of wood
