hello, love asked:

i just got a new dresser and everytime i take my clothes out of it, they smell like wood.

i’ve had it for like a month and it still happens.

how do i get rid of it or do i just have to wait for it to go away by itself?

wood planks

put dryer sheets in your dresser, so that way they will smell like they just came out of a dryer instead of a tree lol

buy wood

Put the dresser in in a well-ventilated area for a couple of days with all the drawers open. There may be some glue-like materials within the wood or possibly something in the varnish/paint that is giving off volatile organic compounds (VOCs). So, leaving it out in the open for a couple of days should take care of it.

Try spraying the inside of your dresser with Febreeze, then put the clothes back in.

wood storage

If it were me I would buy Bounce dryer sheets and put some in the drawers. If that didn’t work I would take some Backing soda in a small continer and leave it in the dresser drawers. If that still didn’t work I would go to the mall and look for a home store. I would buy sashays that you can put in your dresser drawers. Good luck.
