aktblondie03 asked:

I recently put oak tongue and groove wood siding around my countertop in the bathroom and i am trying to give it a beachhouse look. I was painting it white and didnt know what technique to use to give it that old beachouse look. Any ideas?

I live on the beach and I think what you want is s bit of a white-washed look. Since you have already painted your woodwork, you can now take fine sandpaper after the paint is good and dry and as hard as it is going to get, and do some light sanding.
If you had not painted it yet, I’d suggest that you thin down your paint and put it ion w/ a fairly dry brush.
I also did it here on the beach on my ceiling w/ a thinned down pain using a Wagner sprayer, see link below.

It’s called antiquing. Go to a local decor shop and they will give you the instructions………..and yes you can do it….just try and get lines at first and soon you will get the idea…..and you will probably start a business………If done correctly it looks totally real………I got the pleasure of watching a pro painter to it in a lady’s clothing shop………and it was gorgeous….nite
