i get you. also, I guess joke’s on me, hedges was older than ross. Again, though, they all sound awesome and have if anything, their own unique overtones.
HE He he he ha ha!
I’m sure there were plenty of other people playing before Hedges. My point wasn’t really to point out who the first one was, just to point out the futility of trying to prove who was “first”. I agree with you.
yeah, and i don’t know if even michael hedges was the first to do it. Like Don Ross is 50 right now, although Idk if he has been playing this style or the guitar in general his whole life. Idk, but you shouldn’t make stupid assumptions like that, and nobody copies anybody. Mckee probably liked someone else’s style and just played. Even if he did? Who cares? They both sound awesome.
Justin king did not come up with this style
holly…. god thats fantastic that sounds great
no it hasnt look at the other’s movements
I’m pretty sure Michael Hedges was playing this same style years before Justin King became known.
Good job, you’re actually retarded.
this video has been sped up a tiny bit to make it look like faster playin
idc who copied who but id rather listen 2 this guy then and mckee………i just like faster music
I seriously think this guy hasn’t touched an acoustic in his life. He’s probably playing like…power chords on electric and thinks he can play like Justin King…lol.
Yes, You can bend the neck. Justin King came up with this style of guitar playing, its called tap harmonics. Andy Mckee just copied Justin King. But im not he isnt good, just not the originator.
Can’t bend necks?
I smell an inexperienced guitar player.
that is kind of a ridiculous question
it does, stupid. the action you make is moving your neck foward and hold the guitar body back, in other words, BENDING THE NECK. seriously…you must not play the acoustic. when you actually learn what you’re talking about you can come back and tell me that you dont bend the neck. if you bend the strings, the pitch goes up, if you bend the neck, the pitch goes down. where does the pitch go in this song? exactly. dumbass.
u cant bend necks, you can bend strings…try it to ur own guitar and see if the neck bends
I don’t know if they’re inspired by each other, and I don’t think you can tell either. This song and Drifting are in the same tunings, and generally, in off tunings you can only do so much stuff thats not completely crazy so you can keep in rhythym while doing it.
The chords at 0:24 sound way different than the chords in Drifting, trust me.
this guy was before andy mckee
you can tell this guy was inspired by andy mckee. the 3rd motif played is the same as a part in drifing (at 0.24 the first time), still sounds nice though, bit ott on the tap and slide maybe
no, he bent the neck. that’s how it happens. he didn’t like…snap it in half, and thats how you would go about doing it, by pushing the neck forward and holding the body back, but thats definitely called bending the neck. and yes, literally, he bent the neck. if you look at the neck next to a yardstick, you’ll see, he bent the neck.
im talking about the sound. he didnt bend the neck literally, he pushed the neck a little forward so the strings can loosen up a little (hence the lower sound). it wasnt a joke….
no, he bent the neck. I don’t know what you’re saying, but he pushed the neck forward.
was that supposed to be a joke? it was retarded and didnt make any sense.
putteina! O__O really good man!
