the pitch is the essence of music. you know, notes
Theremins rock.
Mr. Segal appears to be doing a limited run of his machines again. I have one of the last ones on reserve, and hope to have a new WaveFront Classic, within a couple weeks. *crosses fingers*
This video has given me the best look at the craftsmanship of the Classic, to date. It’s very hard to find good photo reference of them on the net.
i actually found out yesterday that the kind of theremin i have isn’t for playing music. it’s a pitch-only antenna, so it doesn’t have the looped one that controls volume. it’s made particularly for making noises, not music. it sounds cool, but it’s the actual music one i wanted. i didn’t know mine was only for making noise… it wasn’t in the description of it on the website i got it from.
If you got it, how easy is it to play, is it fun, and does it sound cool?
i’m getting a theremin as a christmas gift. i don’t have it yet, but i’m so excited…

I luv Howard Shore’s work. Especially the song near the end of the movie “The Cell” called “Vital Signs”… frikken kickass!

Very concise description of the superheterodyne mixing and capacitive coupling concept of the theremin. I’m saving this!
