who ever said white men don’t groove
ya all lookin too deep…ya can smell it…funk…pure funk..p&l
Nobody could have put it better. That’s exactly what I think about this Master Guitarist. Also, MMW make a great team to play with him.
Scofield is totally unique. He can play bluesy and funky but he also can play, with total authority and authenticity, the most advanced bop. He really knows harmony inside-out and he has that elastic phrasing that guys like Charlie Parker had but you don’t hear in guitarists who come out of fusion. He’s a great composer, too.
No. Every time you access this video, they all get up and start playing live - lol
I never said that those album(s) are scos’ weakest.
I said that they are, to me amongst his weakest.-subjective opinion with no claim to objectivity.
Same goes for what I said about him being one of my very favorites. Again, I am merely voicing a personal ,subjective
point of view.
I don’t share your views on sco or mmv in terms of “amazing” (or possibly “uniqueness”) , but that’s ok, no?
I see both mmv and sco as able musicians with something to say. I just prefer Sco, that’s all
well he doesnt agree with you because he doesnt think his album with mmw is sco’s weakest
i dont agree with both of your statements because i like mmw more than sco … he isnt very bad or else but there are many more amazing guitarists than him what doesnt count for medeski ..these are only a few^^
sorry, I obviously meant to say: you disagree with me saying that john scofield is one of my favorites?
You agree with me saying that scofield is one of my favorites?
i disagree with your first statement, agree with your last one…
…jazz is not about perfection,anyway.
Sco is certainly a big favorite of mine, The discs with MMW however are to me some of his weakest.
I just find mmw get quite boring quite quickly… hey, whatever, this is a nice tune nonetheless I recon !!!
iu agree that they would an amazing group together but they are by no means boring on there own
He drops his hand for maybe a quick rest then tosses it back up and hits an A. It wasn’t out of key, but it wasn’t probably what he expected to hear - note his animated reaction on the next note. Perfection is rarely acheived outside the studio, unless you can bring yourself to accept these variations as giving the jam it’s character, and that in itself is it’s perfection.
I wouldn’t be so strict but hey, it’s just an opinion and I respect yours, though I don’t think it’s a mistake…peace
Ta for the theory lesson but it’s an obvious mistake. Maybe give it a go in the blowing but the head requires the right bass notes.
